My husband and I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. When booking our room I tried to get a Bed and Breakfast special that was advertised on the Four Seasons website ($385). There were no rooms available for that rate, not surprising, I guess, since I was booking only three weeks in advance. I ended up booking the package at $425 per night. The reservations agent said she would request a room on a high floor with a view. Wow, did she ever! We were given room 1609 which is a corner room and the view was great!
Breakfast was included in our package so we ate in the hotel each morning. The food was delicious and the service was very attentive. Overall, the experience was pricey but well worth it in our opinion. We will be back.

Hotel location

The hotel is located in Market St. in the center of San Francisco, which isn*t the greatest neighborhood in the city, but it was okay. Shopping was in walking distance, so that was really practical and helpful. At night, however, we saw a couple of strange bums loafing around the street. Not that it was extremely scary, but it could be for a single woman. |

Service

The service was very attentive. Everyone we came in contact with was helpful and appeared to take great pride in their work.
The concierges were very good at their jobs. We had never been to San Francisco before and they were very helpful to us. We had a top notch dinner at the C & L Steakhouse on their recommendation. Also, we used the *house car* on two occasions. Going to dinner in a chauffered black Lincoln sedan is much more fun than a taxi !

We only had a package including breakfast, so we only had breakfast in the hotel. There was a big buffet, and everything was really delicious. Plus, the service was very attentive, and my husband and I commented to eachother how happy the staff must be about being able to work there. |

Sports / Entertainment

We didn*t use any sports or entertainment facilities at the hotel, apart from the pool, which was great. However, I can relate that I used a very special service of the Four Seasons San Francisco: the *house car*, a chauffered black Lincoln sedan, which was of course absolutely fabulous. |

Rooms

We were given room 1609, a corner room with an absolutely magnificent view. I have to point out that it*s recommendable to explicitly ask for a room with a view, otherwise you might be disappointed. It could also be that we got that room with a view in in return for not being able to get a room with a cheap advertised rate ($ 385).
Anyway, our room was tastefully furnished, bright and airy. The king-sized bed was extremely comfortable, and the bathroom was lovely, too. |

Tips & recommendations |
|
I would definitely recommend a dinner at the C&L steakhouse, and if enough funds are available, to go there being chauffered by the house sedan! |
